CITIZENSHIP

Grenada

Grenada offers a Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP) that was established in 2013. Known as the “Spice Isle,” Grenada’s citizenship programme provides individuals and their families with the opportunity to obtain second citizenship through significant economic contributions. This programme is unique for its access to the United States E-2 Investor Visa and the China visa waiver programme.

Key Features of Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Programme:

Investment Options:

  • National Transformation Fund (NTF) Contribution: A non-refundable donation to the NTF, which supports various projects in Grenada. The minimum contribution is $150,000 for a single applicant and $200,000 for a family of up to four members. Additional contributions are required for each additional dependent.
  • Real Estate Investment: Invest in a government-approved real estate project with a minimum value of $220,000. The real estate must be held for at least five years. This option often comes with additional costs, such as property registration and legal fees.

Residency Requirement:

  • There is no mandatory residency requirement, making it a convenient option for busy individuals.

Application Process:

  • Initial Consultation: Work with an authorised agent to initiate the application process.
  • Document Preparation: Gather necessary documents, including identification proof, a clean criminal record, medical certificates and financial statements.
  • Application Submission: Submit the completed application through an authorised agent.
  • Due Diligence: The government conducts a thorough due diligence process to verify the integrity and background of the applicant.
  • Approval and Investment: Upon approval in principle, make the required investment and pay any related government fees.
  • Citizenship Certificate: Once the investment is confirmed, receive the Certificate of Naturalisation, enabling the application for a Grenadian passport.

Processing Time:

  • Typically, the process takes about 3 to 4 months from application submission to approval.

Benefits:

  • Visa-Free Travel: Grenadian passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 140 countries, including the Schengen Area, the UK, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Russia.
  • E-2 Investor Visa Treaty with the USA: Grenadian citizens are eligible to apply for the E-2 Investor Visa, which allows them to live and run a business in the United States.
  • Dual Citizenship: The programme allows dual citizenship, so applicants do not need to renounce their existing nationality.
  • Tax Advantages: Grenada has no tax on foreign income, wealth, inheritance or capital gains.
  • Family Inclusion: Applicants can include their spouse, children under 30, parents and grandparents over 55 and unmarried siblings with no children.
